Tales of a Rebel! by Justin Henry: A self starter’s album about his dreams

How many albums have you listened to that accurately depict dreams? If the answer is zero, then a listen to Tales of a Rebel! by Justin Henry will bring that count to one. His most recent effort is a fantastically successful attempt to turn his dreams into reality, and according to the artist himself, that was exactly his plan all along.

Tales of a Rebel! is Justin Henry’s dreams on record. Many people have a hard enough time recalling their dreams to tell someone a story, let alone write a whole album about them. Nonetheless, he did just that, and he did it well too.

Henry has self-described his latest project as a “modern day classic” that is sure to evoke almost every emotion out of the listener, which is exactly how his dreams make him feel. Many artists struggle with coming up with lyrical content to write about, but Justin Henry took the simpler route.

“[My inspiration was] just life and dreaming about it,” said Justin Henry.

The North Carolina native, who has recently relocated to Miami to pursue his creative endeavors, produced and engineered the entire project by himself, with some good friends assisting with the sonics along the way. It gives the album a close knit, personal touch that really makes you feel like you’re in Henry’s dreams. The opening line on the intro “Pocket Full of Friends” sums it all up: “Venting all over these instrumentals / Reminiscing spiritual, I’m getting sentimental”.

Justin Henry has got many, many plans in store for listeners old and new alike. The lifelong musician is not only a prolific producer-engineer for himself, he’s also producing for “other major artists” too, although he won’t divulge who he’s got collaborations with just yet. He’s also working on shifting his label One Rebel! into a media conglomerate. He has one message for everyone out there:

“I’m already the best…the world is just catching up,” he proclaimed.
