Kurt Cocaine Propels Forward With A New Perspective — Check Out This Interview.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Chicago-raised artist Kurt Cocaine who is taking his career and personal life to the next level. His focus is mental health, self awareness based; empathy is high in his calling. In this interview he speaks about his current life, plans for his career and more. Check out the interview below.
1) You’re focused now more than ever on your music and new chapter in life, what brought you to this point of progress?
To me it’s not about starting a new chapter in my life. I’m creating a brand new world for myself and incorporating a lifestyle that’s filled with an abundance of self-care, wealth, integrity, and intelligence. I caught myself falling into a cycle of toxic traits and losing touch with who I really am. That type of behavior is unacceptable with the goals I intend to accomplish and that’s what brought me to this new point of progression.
My intentions with my music will remain the same but delivered differently. I always wanted to give the listeners an escape from reality and create an energy of inspiration for others. My next body of work will not be rushed whatsoever. I want to take the time to experiment with different sounds and I want to give the world something new.
2) What message would you like to share with your fans?
My message to the fans is that you are responsible for your own happiness. Use the power of your mind and be in control of the world that you create for yourself. Knowledge is power and the beautiful thing is nobody can take that away from you.
Have pure intentions but still hold yourself with a fierce heart. In order to grow you must evolve mentally. Dream as high as you can because anything is possible. Most importantly take care and nurture the youth because the kids will always be our future.
3) Name some of influences in music (when it comes to tour sound/new sound).
Every great artist has others artists who have inspired them in their artistic journey. It’s an essential part of the process. Anyone who aspires to become a musician will have someone they’ve looked up to or used as a role model for their own aspirations. My inspiration comes from various artists who create different genres of music but to name a few.. Kurt Cobain, Tupac, Amy Winehouse, Julien Baker, Juice WRLD, Lil Wayne and many more. I’m the type of person who digs deep into music so I’ll have 100 different songs from 100 different artists on my playlist.
4) Please tell us a bit about your brand, Code Blue.
In the medical field the term “code blue” is used to describe a patient that is in critical status that needs immediate attention. Hospitals typically have rapid response teams ready to go when they get notified about a code blue. Spiritually the color blue represents stability, confidence, wisdom, trust, and intelligence. I built the brand to express my mind and intellect. The brand is also for others to be able to express themselves however they want. I want code blue to represent everyone’s pain, struggle and story. Code blue will be a collaboration of music, clothing, entrepreneurship, and evolution of the world.
5) What is your “why.”
My “why” is tattooed on my face. “Survive for the kids.”
6) You are the type of person who has grand goals, which is inspiring for your audience, what is a piece of advice you have for them.
There’s a beautiful quote written by Kurt Sutter from SOA. “Everyday is a new box. You open it.. You take a look at what’s inside. Your the one who determines if it’s a gift or a coffin.” My advice is to accept as many gifts as you possibly can.
