Edie Yvonne drops new anti-Valentine’s Day single, “Random Boy”
Edie Yvonne is back with her third single “Random Boy”, an anti-Valentine’s Day, anti-bullying anthem that reminds listeners to steer clear of toxicity and stand up for themselves. The Nicky Swedin and Cormac Liotta-produced track will be released just in time for Valentine’s Day and is perfect for those who are heading into the love season with someone they just may not love anymore.
“[It] gets out some of the anger towards feeling discomfort and shame and trying to find the right words to challenge threats from a toxic individual,” said Edie Yvonne. “It’s an attempt to create a concrete boundary so that [I] can turn to the lyrics to not repeat past mistakes.”
“Random Boy” is a track for girls or young women who feel uneasy from unwelcome comments or stares. Yvonne is reminding them to keep trying to find their voices and create a feeling of empowerment, and feels as if songwriting is the easiest way for her thoughts to be heard, and the easiest way to get them out too.
“I’m trying to find a place for those feelings and it seems to be pouring out in the process of songwriting,” she said.
In addition to releasing “Random Boy”, the lifelong singer is finishing up two more tracks with her production company Rrose Productions. Her main artistic goal is to release her album At Ease, which she penned whilst dealing with anxiety during the height of the pandemic. Ultimately, her main focus is to keep releasing great music that comes straight from the heart and resonates with audiences around the world. All signs point towards Edie Yvonne doing just that.
